CTE Women's Volleyball Team finishes gold

"Super happy jud kaayo ko nga finally, after four years nako diri, ug dayon nakong graduate ni-champion jud mi diri sa voleyball” said Shiela Marie Flores, a volleybal player from the College of Teacher Education.

 

She is graduating this school yerar, she happily said, "Finally! Champion!"

 

The College of Teacher Education (CTE) women's volleyball team played a total of four games including the championship game against CNU-Medellin campus.

 

Their first game was with the College of Nursing (CN) where they dominated the

game winning the two sets scoring (28-8,25-10).

 

The next game was against CNU-Balamban campus who gave them a thrilling fight

but still CTE managed to win the game with the scores of (25-14,25-18). In their

third game was against CNU-Medellin where the game was composed of two

games, two sets and another three on the second game.

 

Medellin won twice that made the team lead against CTE scoring (26-24,25-16). And

on their secod game, Medellin won the first set with the score (25-23) but according

to Shiela Marie Flores, "gikuha namo tnang determination ug teamwork".

 

On the second set of the game, CTE led with the score (25-20) and this resulted for them to have a third set with CTE winning with 25-19.

 

Coach Michelle Olvido, CTE wome's volleyball coach said that her team has all the courage to win.

 

"Ganahan jud sila maka daog, ang ila motto pirme is "BAWI!" said Olvido.

 

Flores also said that despite the challenges such as budget delays and a place for practice, they still managed to keep the determination. When asked about their edge against CNU-Medellin, she said its all about teamwork and trust to God.

 

"Salig ra man jud kaayo ko sa akong teammates na makaya rajud namo and of course, pinakasalig ko ni God na tbangan mi niya."

 

According to their captain, CTE women's volleyball team will start their preparation for the regional State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association (SCUAA).
