The Field is just this empty without the Football game taking place for this year's Intramurals .
Football has been the most popular sports in the world. Many have been enthralled in joining this prestigious sport.
This sport is very common and most popular in western countries but due to it's popularity some of the eastern countries have been interested on it. And one of those is the Philippines.
We know that we already have a national team for football --the Philippine Azkals , but still the people is yet to embrace how the sport works .And how will it give us fun compared to the most popular sport in the country -- the basketball.
That’s one of the main reason why for this years' Intramural games of Cebu Normal the sport is not included, which is sad for some enthusiast.
"The lack of knowledge Jud of what football really is, most of the people are not yet familiar with how it is done." said Mr. Caldelero the coach of the University's football team.
Last year's intramural games it was offered and two colleges from the main campus was able to formulate a team of their own-- one from the College if Arts and Sciences and one from the College of Teacher Education as well as CNU Balamban. However, the team is not an all-boy group, it was a combination of men and women's team due to lack of the participants.
Apparently, the College of Teacher Education won the championship. Mr. Caldelero is really not quite sure yet of what's the main reason why it has been removed in the games.
Some of the participants last year guessed that maybe its due to lack of funds . Because the rent for holding the game at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC) is somehow costly.
"Mahal man sad gud ang abang sa field." said Renz Remedio a member of the CAS Team of last year's football team.
Some are also suspecting that maybe the funds are being spared to cover the cost in the up coming SCUAA Regional Meet 2015.
In spite of everything, the university is still persevering to formulate a team that will represent the University for the in coming SCUAA. In fact, the have been preparing under the leadership of Mr. Caldelero slowly they have been formulating a better team.
Since there would only be one team to represent CNU what they are doing now is to train the enthusiasts from the two colleges of the main campuses, CTE and CAS, as well as CNU Balamban and qualify them according to their performance. " Pero kuanon pa among performance kung kinsay angay dawaton." said Renz Remedio.
The team is taking their training every Sunday with Coach Caldelero in the East Visayan Academy located in Bulacao, Cebu City.
The team is headed by the acting team captain Rudy Miller, a Junior in Bachelor of Arts in Literature.
So to speak, there is really no explicit reason behind not having the football in this year's Intramural games.
We can only hope that the current team that has been formulated would represent CNU with pride and honor for the bigger fight they're going to face amidst the challenges and struggles the team might be encountering.
The question here is that how ready is the team and are they positive to bring home the bacon.
"Di pako kaingon sa pagkakaron Kay dili pajud klaro among practice ba kai usahay naay dili motunga." exclaimed Renz when asked if they are confident. But one thing is for sure, they already have the equipment and the support of the whole university.
