The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) dominated against all college departments after garnering four championship titles in CNU Literary Festival held at Emma Center last September 16, 2015.
Three titles were bagged by the College of Teacher Education (CTE) followed by the CNU Medellin with one gold medal.
This year’s literary contests are Extemporaneous Speaking, Storytelling and Essay Writing (English and Filipino), Short and Sweet Play and the Radio Drama.
All events in the Filipino category started at 8 A.M while literary contests in English took place in the afternoon.
As a rule, the essay writing contest proper both in English and Filipino was held prior to the competition of other categories.
April Jireh Hermogenes of CTE won first place in Essay Writing (English) while Jannine Quevedo, CAS reaped the champion award in Essay Writing (Filipino).
This year, the Radio Drama and Short and Sweet Play contests were added in the Literary Festival. The CAS was hailed as champion for both categories.
“I think among edge kay ang story itself ug ang kinasing-kasing nga paghatag namug kinabuhi sa mga characters”, said Faith Lecena, a senior Communication student and member of the group which won in Radio Drama, when asked on what’s their edge among other contestants.
